TFS Enhances Production with Appointment of UK Head of Manufacturing
Change is far from the ‘new norm’ at TFS… The UK’s leading business to business processor of wood based panel products, has expanded its internal team to support its growth aspirations. Appointed in an entirely new role for the business, Terry Wells is now TFS’ UK Head of Manufacturing.
With extensive experience within “Just in Time” industries, Terry’s skill set has been put to full use in supporting TFS’ growth strategy during this past year, laying the foundations to enable the company’s strategic objectives to be realised and built upon.
Having recently achieved Lean Six Sigma black belt certification, Terry’s passion for personal and professional development will be paramount to building a sustainable growth model, including the reduction of waste in manufacturing processes and introduction of new tools to drive efficiencies.
Terry Wells, UK Head of Manufacturing at TFS, explained: “Coming from the automotive and aerospace industries, I am used to working under immense pressure in which mistakes can cost a lot of money. The timber sector is no less forgiving, and I have brought this attitude to my current job role and will be working to constantly improve and enhance our internal operations and service offering for the benefit of our clients.”
Day to day, Terry has full management responsibility for production planning, staff training and maintaining quality standards. Passionate about identifying opportunities for progression and efficiencies, Terry is currently investing in training for staff members to ensure each shift is competent across the whole factory line.
Howard Morris, Managing Director at TFS, concluded: “With extensive experience and sheer determination and passion for professional business development, Terry was a clear choice for us when we were looking to appoint an individual who would support our growth plans and help to drive the business forward. Change is part of the mantra at TFS, we need to constantly embrace opportunities to improve and enhance our services to the benefit of our clients, suppliers and staff.”
