TFS Invests in Quality with Systems Support Coordinator Appointment

As part of a yearlong investment strategy that has seen Trade Fabrication Systems (TFS) – the UK’s leading business to business processor of coated and laminated wood based panel products – enhance its service offering, TFS has recently appointed Dave Watts as Systems Support Coordinator to manage, maintain and improve TFS’ renowned quality standards.

Having secured ISO 9001:2015 certification, together with Wood Protection Association (WPA) benchmark and BBA product approvals, TFS prides itself on the quality provisions it delivers to major partners in the UK construction industry. As a result of the investment in machinery and internal operations, TFS appointed Dave Watts as Systems Support Coordinator to take primary responsibly for the ISO standards and to work on the restructure of the quality management systems to ensure they remain tailored to client requirements.

With over 15 years previous experience working within TFS, Dave was appointed to the role due, in part, to his prior knowledge and understanding of the inner workings of the business and appreciation of TFS’ objective to continually improve service delivery and operations. With a focus on both auditable quality control assurances and increased attention on worker wellbeing, Dave has risen to the challenge of maintaining an efficient and effective working environment.

“After taking a break from the manufacturing industry for five years, I was delighted when the opportunity arose to re-join the TFS team at such an exciting development stage. At TFS, our staff stand by the saying ‘right first time’, meaning that nothing leaves our factory unless it’s of the highest standards for our clients. Having worked with TFS for a number of years previously, taking on the responsibility for maintaining our quality assurances is a great opportunity for personal development and keeping up standards on our reputation for quality products,” Dave Watts, TFS’ Systems Support Coordinator, commented.

Having successfully piloted TFS’ most recent BS EN ISO 9001:2015 quality assurance audit, Dave worked tirelessly to enhance the internal process system. To the commendation of the auditor, Dave and the management team at TFS rebuilt the system entirely and significantly improved the overall process.

Howard Morris, Managing Director at TFS, concluded: “Our recent performance in the ISO 9001:2015 audit is testament to the appointment of Dave Watts as our Systems Support Coordinator and I am very proud of the team. Dave was one of TFS’ first employees over 20 years ago – working his way up from the factory floor, from Shift Supervisor to Operations Manager. When the need arose for us to identify a specialist person to manage and maintain our quality assurance programme, he was an ideal fit. Dave’s passion for the work we do and dedication to delivering quality products for our clients has proven invaluable as we move the business forward following the huge investments we have made at TFS.”
