Apprenticeship careers at TFS

It’s National Apprenticeship Week!
At TFS, we’ve invested in the careers of young talent for over 25 years. We offer a range of apprentice training routes to allow young people to get hands-on work experience alongside their studies.
We’ve supported learners at both college and university level apprenticeships as well as offering summer placements, providing young people with practical skills, valuable experience, and a pathway to long-term success.
In fact, our Director Adam Morris started in the business as an apprentice and has worked his way to the top. Adam is a great example of how apprenticeships can help unlock the potential of the next generation of talent.
As a business, we have found there are lots of benefits to working with apprentices, not least that we’re upskilling the next generation of the workforce and supporting our business needs now and into the future.
Most recently, we’ve taken on Adam Caddick, 20, who is studying Business Management as part of a degree apprenticeship with Edge Hill University.
Adam is on his second year of a six-year course and said:
“I’ve always had an interest in understanding the workings of a business and I liked the combination of gaining hands-on experience alongside learning the theory. Doing a degree apprenticeship gives me the best of both and I’m really enjoying it so far.
“I started in the warehouse learning about the details of each TFS service and now, in my second year I’ve moved upstairs with the office team where I am developing commercial understanding.
“The degree apprenticeship gives me a unique opportunity to grasp every aspect of what makes the business tick, something you could never get from reading a book. Not only does this help me to learn in real time but it also gives me employability skills that will help me in the long term.
“I don’t think enough people know about degree apprenticeships and the benefits they can offer. I get to earn while I learn, as well as building real-world skills and knowledge that will set me up in the future. I’m grateful that companies like TFS support up and coming talent in this way.”
