Trade Fabrication Systems brings new panel processing solutions to Offsite Expo

Trade Fabrication Systems (TFS) will be showcasing a series of new innovations at this year’s Offsite Expo (Stand C20, 17th – 18th September), demonstrating how its continued investment in research and development has delivered an enhanced range of time-saving offsite solutions for walls, floors, and roofs.

Now part of the Arclin Group, the UK’s leading processor of wood-based panels has been working on a series of new solutions that address some of the biggest time and cost challenges in construction programmes. This includes the launch of TradeCoat Visage, a new paper-faced OSB overlay that provides a cost-effective alternative to traditional plywood and filled OSB by applying a smooth and aesthetic finish to raw OSB.

Making its UK debut at Offsite Expo, TradeCoat Visage offers a cost-saving solution for applications where aesthetics is a priority. “TradeCoat Visage is the direct result of combining the expertise of TFS and Arclin,” explains Howard Morris, TFS, Managing Director. “Taking Arclin’s market-leading paper facings, and our state-of-the-art finishing capabilities, we’re giving UK construction a quality and viable alternative to traditional plywood and filled OSB.

“Since previewing the product in America earlier this year, there’s been a lot of interest in using TradeCoat Visage for hoarding and internal panelling. But the flexibility we have with supplying it as raw, primed or fully finished to any RAL colour, makes it ideal for any multi-purpose board application.”

Helping to drive further efficiencies in timber frame construction, TFS is bringing TradeCoat PreBond to this year’s Offsite Expo. TradeCoat PreBond is a factory-applied membrane that ensures effectiveness, airtightness and protection. As well as simplifying on-site installation, TFS PreBond also reduces the risk of damage. Timber panels arrive ready for immediate installation, saving valuable time during construction and helping the project to be more cost-effective by reducing the need for additional tradespeople.

Alongside wall solutions, visitors to Stand C20 can also see how TFS’ offsite processing solutions deliver on-site advantages for flat roof installations. Designed for the section build and traditional flat roof markets where traditional roofing felt and EPDM roof membrane is a popular choice, TradeCoat RoofDek provides water resistance during installation. By coating roof panels with a black peel-off weather protective film, TFS provides roofing contractors with a practical solution to help keep projects on track, even when it’s raining.

“TradeCoat RoofDek has been part of our offsite portfolio for a while, but as the UK weather becomes increasingly unpredictable, we’ve seen an upturn in enquiries,” continues Howard. “We’ve essentially taken the principle of our market-leading ‘peel-clean’ for floors and applied it to roof panels, using a robust film designed to withstand the elements.”

TradeCoat GripShield completes the wall, roof, and floor offering from TFS. As a slip resistant building board, TradeCoat GripShield provides a high level of temporary surface protection which can be used in all weather conditions. Creating a safe passage of access during construction works while reducing risk of damage to existing surfaces, including block paving, tarmac, metal and timber decking, and concrete, TradeCoat GripShield is suitable for multiple applications.

As an offsite B2B processing partner, TFS works with merchants, housebuilders and contractors to save time and reduce costs by adding value to wood-based panels.
