Behind the scenes at TFS – Jacub Dworakowski, Trainee Operator
It’s a family affair for Jacub Dworakowski, who joined TFS two and a half years ago after his brother – who was already part of the team – mentioned an upcoming vacancy.
“I’ve always worked in construction and manufacturing,” Jacub said. “I moved to the UK five years ago, but when I lived in Poland I used to help build ships – I like seeing how things come together.”
Jacub had a role in packing before moving to TFS as a trainee operator. He works on the coating line, and has additional duties including forklift driving, packing and stacking – but says it’s the culture and workplace environment he thrives off most.
“Being able to work alongside my brother is great, and my line manager is also one of my closest friends,” he said. “He’s taught me everything about the role I currently do with a lot of patience, and has also helped me learn a lot of the English language. We’re on the same wavelength – I understand him, he understands me, and because of that I always feel supported and taken care of.”
Jacub is currently undergoing training to become a senior supervisor, so has his sights set on a long future with TFS.
“Working at TFS, I get to learn so much and with the team’s support, I’m creating a better future for myself,” he said. “I’m happy here, doing a job I find interesting surrounded by people I like working with. What more could I want from a workplace?”
