As a crucial cog in the construction supply chain, we stayed fully operational throughout the series of national lockdowns, delivering offsite processing and machining solutions that helped keep site programmes on track. During that time, we welcomed several new team members who have been pivotal in keeping the wheels of industry turning. 

Taking a peek behind the scenes to meet the people who make things happen at TFS, we’re starting with Tom Harrison, Systems Co-ordinator, to discover a bit more about what he has been doing to keep the construction supply chain moving… 

“I joined TFS in August 2020, so while restrictions were easing – things were far from normal. Despite this, I had a fantastic induction to the business. It was clear, right from the start, that employee safety and service quality are top priorities for the company. 

“As Systems Co-ordinator, it’s my job to manage the Quality Management System, which in turn helps to ensure that our offsite processing and machining is completed to the highest possible standards. 

“In my wider role, I conduct regular audits and get involved with planning production – all of which contribute to us being able to deliver an efficient service. This is especially important currently because delays in the timber substrate supply chain mean our customers need to accelerate on-site programmes when materials do arrive.

“Health and safety also comes under my remit. With robust processes and regular operative training, we pride ourselves on maintaining a safe and positive working environment.

“Since joining TFS, I’ve been given a lot of additional development opportunities that have broadened my skillset. The support to progress so rapidly has been great and I’m looking forward to expanding on this even further by evolving my role to include wider responsibilities. TFS really is a great place to work!”
